The Chaw Legacy Fund
To Advance The Institute’s Future

The Chaw Legacy Fund To Advance The Institute’s Future is a special initiative to build the NELA Institute into an even more powerful force in the fight to safeguard, defend, and champion workers’ rights. Launched in November 2016 by the NELA Executive Board and The Institute’s Board of Directors, the Chaw Legacy Fund is inspired by the vision, integrity, and excellence of Teri Chaw, who retired as NELA and The Institute’s Executive Director in July 2017 after 27 years of incomparable service. We are proud to honor Teri Chaw for the meaningful role she played in advancing the field of plaintiffs’ employment law.

Our strategy includes building an executive leadership team for the NELA Institute, which will continue to work alongside NELA to pursue our shared mission and goals. A strong Institute presents tremendous opportunities, such as enhanced public education, research, and other activities that promote employee rights and protect workers’ access to the courts; greater influence in shaping public discourse on workplace law and policy; and increased visibility as a trusted and important source of information for policymakers, the media, and the general public on key issues we care about.

Your tax-deductible contribution to the Chaw Legacy Fund will build Teri Chaw’s extraordinary legacy and propel the movement for workers’ rights into the future. To join us, please donate online now, or contact Leah A. Hofkin, Director of Development (Tel: (415) 296-7629).
